Do Purple Mattresses need a box spring or foundation?

You won't want to use a box spring. The springs of a box spring can break down over time and cause the mattress to sag. Purple mattresses need a flat, sturdy surface to rest on. This can be a platform, slats (3" apart or less), box foundation (as opposed to a box spring), an adjustable bed frame, or even the floor – it all works just fine. We recommend one of our bases like the Purple Platform Bed Frame.

What size of mattress do you need?

When choosing a mattress size, it's important to consider the space of the bedroom and the height of the sleeper. Some of the most common mattress sizes are Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, and King. Each of these mattress sizes can provide certain benefits. Queen mattresses are the most popular, due to their size and affordability. A King mattress may be the best mattress for couples for its extra space and comfort, though you need to consider the size of the room and available budget. For single-sleeping teens and adults, a Twin XL or Full mattress are excellent choices.

Do you need a new bed foundation?

What kind of mattress frame or bed foundation do you need?
There are many different options, and they’re not created equal. A box spring is designed for a traditional innerspring mattress, and may not work well for other mattress types. If your local sanitation department is unable to pick it up, they may still accept foam mattresses at the landfill or other drop-off locations.
